Camp Communication: Day 6- Leaving

2:02 pm 8/6/10
We left camp around noon so we should be home by 4ish. After cabin time yesterday we had the camper talent/no talent (TNT) show, but before that we had the evening program and signed these folders we hung with string onto our backs to give opinions of other people. After the TNT we had vespers and it was really sad, making everyone cry- Senior goodbyes. Then the seniors ran into the lake together and hugged everyone getting them soaking wet. After that we went to the "senior" bonfire. It used to be an only senior thing, but they're trying to be more inclusive. It was nice to see all of the seniors sharing what they want for their futures. It makes me wonder what I'll decide on by next year. we left the bonfire by 12:30 this morning and I woke up around 7:30 (which is late for camp time). After packing up everything and putting it in the lounge so that the cleaning staff could clean our cabin I walked to my last taize for the year with Angela. We talked about how much we're going to miss camp and how much we are looking forward to next year (if there is a next year). Then, after cinnamon rolls for breakfast, we cleaned up the camp as our last family group meeting. We swept and picked up garbage and took group pictures. Then we came back outside the dining hall to have a huge hug line which took hours and which Lindsey tried to stop unsuccessfully- it's one of the camp traditions we intend on keeping. Then we signed out, picked up our stuff, said good bye again and went on the road. Keeping our memories, but leaving everything else behind.
